ARE YOU ABOUT TO BURNOUT

A TALK FOR THE WELLESLEY MOTHERS FORUM
PRESENTED BY JANINE PARDO, MD and LISA LEWTAN
WHEN: JANUARY 9th, 2019

In this dynamic seminar-style talk we will walk you through the recognition of signs and symptoms of burnout and the science behind them. Through Lisa’s compelling personal journey from burnout to resilient personal best, and Janine’s engaging physiological analysis, we will learn how to step away from the edge, and teach you simple, practical strategies you can apply immediately to resolve burnout and return to thriving. Leave with a greater understanding of how and why we burnout, but also how and why it can be easy to avoid or reverse this state. Learn tricks of the trade to better understand the good and bad aspects of stress and learn how to keep stress balanced.


WELLESLEY WELLNESS RETREAT

The Hunnewell Carriage House at Elm Bank, Wellesley

This year Dr. Pardo will be talking part in the third annual Wellesley Wellness Retreat on January 28th, 2018 at the botanical gardens at Elm Bank in Wellesley. It's an event that celebrates and supports our local community of moms with programming that focuses on smart self-care habits. It will be a relaxing and inspiring day with opportunities for yoga, life-coaching, massage, acupuncture, self-reflection and meditation. We'll also be sharing take-home strategies for mindful eating and nutrition, stress reduction, meaning family time, and many ways to foster vibrant good health.

Dr. Pardo will be presenting on “Gut and Digestive Issues - a foundation for health”

The day begins with an optional 8AM yoga practice. Programming is from 9:00AM - 3:30PM. You can choose order a boxed lunch or bring your own. Take advantage of early-bird pricing until October 31st.

WHEN:  TUESDAY, MAY 15th at 6:30PM

In this talk Dr. Pardo will discuss how families can protect and enhance their brain health via food and healthy lifestyle choices.  The food we choose to put into our bodies everyday can determine our mood, our brain function, our body processes, and even the expression of our genes. We will explore the root causes of common chronic diseases that affect brain health (including autoimmune disease, allergies, anxiety, diabetes, digestive problems, and obesity). We will discuss the microbiome, and learn about the significant role of food and lifestyle in the development, prevention, and treatment of inflammation and chronic illnesses.  From this discussion, learn to thrive with improved attention, focus, productivity, clarity, and calmness.
